How to Pump & NOT Dump while Traveling

Traveling for work or for anything while pumping can be an extremely daunting experience. As someone who traveled consistently for work while breastfeeding for 3 years, let me share with you some of my key tips to pump and NEVER dump so that I could always return home with a fresh batch of liquid gold to my baby, even on a 3-5 day trip!

Hi Mamas,

When I first started my career, there was nothing I wanted to do more than travel for work. Send me far to the most exotic, remote areas, and I was a happy camper. But then, I had kids. For the next three years, traveling would take on a whole new perspective for me. Often times, teary eyed before leaving my babies for a flight, I would take comfort in knowing that I would at least be able to bring back a mom's most treasured gift -my liquid gold.

Ten years ago we didn't have the tools that we have today that makes pumping-on-the-go more feasible. Somehow I made do with the hand pumps and ineffective ice packs.  It was actually a nightmare as I traveled mostly internationally on flights on average of 5 hours long, and sometimes by boat, train, and 4x4!

I am so grateful however, that today, I can pass on some of my wisdom to working and traveling moms - where there is a will, there is a way. And luckily with modern innovations, there are better ways! Thank you to Motherly® for sharing my story and my most important travel tips for breastfeeding/pumping moms that you can read here!

To all of you mamas, we are here for you. You are not alone. Together we are stronger.
